• The Friars
The Friars mission is to permeate our society with Gospel values. We are to be instrumnets of change and heralds of peace in a broken world, serving all people, especially the poor and marginalized, through reconciliation and healing.

Our mission, in a variety of ministries, is to try to respond to the needs of the Church in fidelity to our Franciscan ideals.

  • Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers
The Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers is a great organization which I am currently a member of and was formally on the Board of Directors. As a Franciscan Friar I am responsible for the fundraising for our Franciscan Province and I do this primarily through direct mail. This site and the organization is a must for anyone involved in nonprofit direct mail appeals. It has helped me tremendously to keep up on current events on Capital Hill as well as the many Post Office and nonprofit related issues.

  • Franciscan Outreach
The Franciscan Outreach Association is the Spirit of St. Francis in action. It is a place for the homeless and others who are struggling just to survive. Guests are able to get a meal and a place to sleep as well as some access to counseling. Located in Chicago, IL and started by one of our own Franciscan Priests (the late Fr. Marquard) this is a must on my list of favorites.

  • Doorways
Many people who find out that they are HIV positive or are suffering with AIDS are not able to be cared for by family or friends and have no place to go. 'Doorways is the only organization in the St. Louis metropolitan area whose sole mission is to provide housing for people living with HIV and AIDS'.

  • Padua Franciscan High School
Padua is a Catholic High School located in Parma, Ohio. Padua was founded by the Franciscan Province of the Sacred of St. Louis, MO and bases its educational philosophy on the life and spirituality of Saint Francis of Assisi. This is a great Catholic High School and continues to grow as it faces new challenges each year.

  • Franciscan International
'Franciscan International (FI) works on behalf of the poor for peace, justice and the care of creation at the United Nations in New York and Geneva'. It is quite impressive and comforting to know that Franciscan values, such as; loving concern for the poor, care of creation, and peacemaking are being brought before the United Nations forums and agendas.

  • Quincy University
Quincy University is a Catholic and Franciscan academic community that was founded in 1860 by Franciscans of the Sacred Heart Province. I have a special place in my heart for Quincy, IL and the University. Please visit their web site.
